Frequently asked questions
Short answers to the questions clients ask us most often before a consultation.
Booking and consultation
How do I book a legal consultation?
You can book through the booking form on this website, by calling +968 99002727 or +968 99745876, or on WhatsApp. Choose the nearest branch and the type of matter, and we will contact you to confirm the appointment.
What should I bring to the consultation?
Bring your identity card and all documents related to your matter: contracts, correspondence, previous judgments or decisions, and official notices. A short written summary of the facts and their dates also helps a great deal.
What is the difference between a consultation and instructing a lawyer?
A consultation is a legal opinion on the facts of your matter and the options available to you. Instructing a lawyer means the lawyer represents you and takes action on your behalf, which requires a power of attorney and an agreement on the scope of work and fees.
How long has the firm been practising?
Dr. Omar Al Blushi Law Firm was established in 1999, giving it 27 years of experience in advocacy and legal consultation.
Which languages can I use with you?
We advise and work with clients in Arabic and English.
Do you work with individuals and companies?
Yes. We advise and represent individuals and companies in all the practice areas listed on this website.
Can I send my documents through the booking form?
The form does not accept file attachments, and please do not write confidential information in it. Bring your documents to the consultation, or follow what the lawyer asks when confirming the appointment.
Fees and working with us
How are legal fees set?
Fees depend on the type of matter, the amount of work and its stages, and are agreed with the client before work starts. For consultation fees, please contact us.
Will my information stay confidential?
Yes. A lawyer is bound to keep confidential everything learned in the course of the profession, and we use your information only to serve your matter.
Can you guarantee the outcome of my case?
No. No lawyer can guarantee the outcome of a case, and professional ethics forbid it. What we commit to is studying your matter carefully, explaining your legal position and the likely outcomes realistically, and representing you with due care.
Are there legal deadlines I should watch?
Yes. Appeals against judgments and some claims are subject to time limits set by law, and missing them can extinguish the right. It is best to seek advice early, especially after a judgment is issued or a notice is received.
Branches and contact
Where are your branches?
We have three branches: Sohar in North Al Batinah Governorate, which is our head office, Muscat and Al Buraimi. Each branch’s details are on its page.
Which branch should I visit?
You can start with the branch closest to you. In the consultation, the lawyer will identify the authority competent to hear your matter and the right procedure.
What are your working hours?
Working hours: Sunday to Thursday, 8:00 am to 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Booking in advance is recommended before visiting any branch.
